The branding. A business gift with no advertising on it is normally disallowed as a deduction, because gifts are carved out to stop entertaining being reclassified as marketing. A branded promotional item carrying a conspicuous advertisement for your business falls within a recognised exception to that carve-out, subject to the other conditions. This is why a branded notebook and an unbranded bottle of wine of the same value are treated differently.

It means the recycled content has been verified and traced through the supply chain under the Global Recycled Standard, run by Textile Exchange. A product needs at least 20% certified recycled content to be GRS certified, and at least 50% to carry the GRS logo. GRS also covers social conditions, environmental processing and chemical restrictions, which is what separates it from a content only claim.

Recycled cotton is reclaimed from offcuts and used textiles and shredded back into fibre, which shortens the fibres, so it's usually blended with recycled polyester for strength. Organic cotton is newly grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilisers and handles like conventional cotton. They're different claims with different certifications: GRS or RCS for recycled content, GOTS for organic.

No. Natural means the cotton is unbleached and undyed, which is about the finish rather than how it was grown. An organic claim needs a certification behind it, and under GOTS that means at least 95% certified organic fibre for the Organic grade or 70% for Made with Organic Materials.
