Phegsdann is an annual charity golf day run by three friends. Its 2026 event took place at Hampton Court Palace Golf Club on Thursday 3 September and raised £8,118 for Princess Alice Hospice, comfortably beating the organisers' £5,000 target. Hotline Promotional Products was delighted to support the day for the second year running, supplying branded golf umbrellas and Golf Repair Tool and Ball Markers as prizes.

There was plenty of friendly competition on the course at Phegsdann 2026, and the winners took home prizes they could keep using long after the final putt. This year's event also had a particularly important purpose behind it.

Result£8,118 raised for Princess Alice Hospice against a £5,000 target, with the products given as competition prizes and in the raffle

The day began with breakfast at 9am before a shotgun start at 10.30am. Players then tackled 18 holes alongside mini-competitions including Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin and Beat the Pro, and afterwards everyone returned to the clubhouse for dinner, speeches, a raffle and a live auction.

Phegsdann had always hoped its successful first event could become the beginning of something bigger, as the organisers explained:

We were really proud of our success last year and had always hoped we could make it an annual fundraising event. Returning to the same venue also gave the organisers an opportunity to apply what they'd learned the first time, improving both the experience for guests and the fundraising potential of the day. That experience certainly paid off.

Raising money in memory of someone special

Phegsdann chose Princess Alice Hospice for 2026 for a reason that was deeply personal to the organisers. The mum of one of their friends died in late 2025 following cancer, and Princess Alice Hospice had cared for her during the later stages of her illness, leaving the family extremely grateful for the care and reassurance she received. Phegsdann decided to hold the 2026 golf day in her memory, as the organisers explained:

Knowing how grateful our friend's family was for their services meant it seemed like an obvious decision to run Phegsdann this year in her honour and to raise money for a cause close to everyone's hearts. Princess Alice Hospice provides free palliative and end-of-life care, including care at its hospice in Esher and support for people and families at home. The charity relies heavily on support and fundraising from its local community to provide its services.

For the Phegsdann team, the personal connection gave this year's fundraising an added significance. One of the organisers' highlights came when their friend's family joined everyone during the evening. As they explained:

The day really was to show our support to them and seeing them walk away smiling was enough for us to know we had done a good job. From a £5,000 target to £8,118 raised.

Danny

Phegsdann

The 2026 Phegsdann Charity Golf Day raised £8,118 for Princess Alice Hospice, against a target of £5,000. Having raised over £4,500 at their first event, the organisers entered 2026 with an ambitious goal: break the £5,000 barrier. They didn't just beat it.

The money came from golfer entries, individual donations, raffle ticket sales and the live auction. Support from sponsors helped Phegsdann build what the organisers described as a particularly strong raffle table, and one high-value auction item alone added another £1,000 to the charity pot.

By the time the event was drawing to a close, the team could already tell guests they'd comfortably exceeded the original target, and the final count confirmed the £8,118 total. The organisers summed up their reaction simply:

The three of us are absolutely chuffed to bits.

Hotline returns as a Phegsdann sponsor

Hotline supplied another selection of branded golf umbrellas for the 2026 Phegsdann Charity Golf Day, together with Golf Repair Tool and Ball Markers. At Phegsdann's first golf day, we supplied branded umbrellas for the event winners and golf tees for players to use during the day, and we were very happy to get involved again for 2026.

This year's umbrellas and ball markers were awarded to the winning golfers, as well as the winners of the Longest Drive and Closest to the Pin competitions. The remaining products were then added to the raffle, helping Phegsdann raise further funds for Princess Alice Hospice.

For an event like this, choosing promotional golf products that fit the activity makes a lot of sense. Rather than a generic prize, a golf umbrella, divot repair tool or ball marker has an obvious purpose for the recipient. Phegsdann saw another benefit too:

That golf umbrella, or ball marker will stay in that golfer's bag for the foreseeable future: every round they play they will be reminded of the great day they had. Longevity is an important consideration when choosing branded golf gifts or promotional products for sporting events. A useful product can remain part of someone's equipment for months or years, rather than being forgotten once an event ends.

Branded golf prizes that people actually wanted to win

The organisers reported positive reactions from the people who received Phegsdann's branded prizes, with winners particularly complimentary about their quality. Relevance wasn't the only consideration: for Phegsdann, presentation and quality mattered as well, and the organisers felt having their own branded prizes helped give the event a more polished feel.

Having Phegsdann branded prizes on show really elevates the golf day to look high-end.

Phegsdann's golf day is a useful example of why promotional golf products can work particularly well for charity days, corporate golf events and tournaments. The merchandise becomes part of the event itself, as a competition prize, welcome gift, player accessory or raffle item, while retaining a practical purpose afterwards. Our golf day gift and prize ideas go through what works at each stage of a golf day, from the tee gift to the prize table.

Cops & Choppers make it two in a row

Cops & Choppers successfully defended their team title to make it back-to-back Phegsdann victories. Meanwhile, Tom Garratt secured his place on the Phegsdann trophy with an individual winning score of 41 points.

Add good weather into the mix and the organisers described Phegsdann 2026 as a brilliant day from start to finish. The real victory, though, was the fundraising total.

Supporting an organisation that relies on community fundraising

The £8,118 raised is particularly meaningful given the way Princess Alice Hospice is funded. As of September 2026, the hospice puts the cost of its free care at more than £12.3 million a year, and says only 20% of its income comes from core NHS sources.

Fundraising and wider community support therefore play an important role in keeping Princess Alice Hospice's services running. Events such as Phegsdann form part of a much wider community fundraising effort that helps specialist hospice care remain available to patients and their families.

Two years of working together

Hotline has now supported two Phegsdann golf days, and the organisers describe working together as a straightforward process. For Hotline, sponsorship isn't simply about putting a logo on a product. We want the products we provide to make sense for the event and the people receiving them, particularly when organisers already have enough to think about. Phegsdann commented:

Dealing with Hotline is always a pleasure, Chris and the team know exactly what we are after and what will work. It's such a straightforward process that it allows us to spend more time on other tasks ahead of the big day.

Getting the product, branding and delivery sorted shouldn't become another headache for an organiser, whether the merchandise is for a charity golf day, a conference, a university event or a community fundraiser. For us, that's exactly how supplying promotional products should work.

A free Visual Proof™ shows how your branding will look on a promotional product before you commit to an order. Our in-house designers put your logo on the product and send it back with the price and delivery date, usually in around 20 minutes.

Phegsdann will return in 2027

Phegsdann will return in 2027, and the organisers will announce the date once it's confirmed, inviting golfers and supporters to get the clubs back out and help raise money again. After seeing the event grow from over £4,500 raised at its first golf day to £8,118 in 2026, they'll have an impressive benchmark to aim for.

For now, though, the final word belongs to the Phegsdann team:

We thank everyone so much for playing their role in raising funds for such a worthwhile cause and we just hope you can all be as generous again next year! THANK YOU!

Danny

We're proud to have played a small part in another successful Phegsdann event, and we congratulate everyone involved in raising such a fantastic amount for Princess Alice Hospice.

Planning a charity golf day or sporting event?

The right promotional products can work as player gifts, competition prizes, raffle items and practical event merchandise, often at the same event. For a golf day, branded umbrellas, ball markers and tees are a natural fit, because players keep using them long after the day itself.
